Each piece is anodized for durability and offers maximum protection against oil leaks compared to OEM or other aftermarket cam seals. The factory plastic/rubber cam plugs deteriorate over time since they are exposed directly to heat radiating off the cylinder head. Once you replace your factory cam plug with a Blox Billet Aluminum Cam Plug, you will never have to replace it again.
