  
Whenever you upgrade your OBD1 B-series block with a Type-R oil pump, you have to replace your lower timing cover with one from an OBD2 B-series. Why? Because, OBD2 oil pumps have the provisions for the crank angle sensor, and the lower timing cover is shaped differently to accommodate this. The B-series OBD2 Lower Timing Cover is a direct bolt-on to all B-series blocks.
