The Honda Electronic Control Unit is one of the most technologically advanced of its time. Honda ECU's use "fuzzy logic". What is "fuzzy logic" you ask? Fuzzy logic is a superset of conventional (Boolean) logic that has been extended to handle the concept of partial truth -- truth values between "completely true" and "completely false". Fuzzy logic seems closer to the way our brains work. We aggregate data and form a number of partial truths which we aggregate further into higher truths which in turn, when certain thresholds are exceeded, cause certain further results such as motor reaction. A similar kind of process is used in artificial computer neural network and expert systems.
In a nut shell, Honda ECU's are very intelligent. Therefore, we at Inline Four do not offer specific programs that dramatically change the mapping and specific instructions that were originally written. We give each ECU a "well-rounded" base map which includes a higher rev-limit, slight upgrade of fuel and timing maps and a speed-governor removal(if necessary). These base maps are designed around the modifications your car currently has. Furthermore, we encourage the additonal use of a vtec or fuel controller to give more flexibility and to fine tune your engine.
