If you are looking to replace your drive axles, the iL4 Class Axles OE+ spec is the perfect axle upgrade. These axles are designed to OEM specification and have upgraded internal components in the inner and outboard cup sections. The outboard splines are also "rolled formed" vs. the traditional "broach" method. When the spline is rolled formed, precious metals are not lost in the process and strength and integrity are maximized to its fullest potential.
The OE+ spec axle is reccommended for daily use, road racing or auto-x. These axles are ok to be used in mild to moderate all motor road race/auto-x setups. For drag racing, high-horsepower all motor, nitrous or turbo, you must use the D.spec axle.
These iL4 OE+ spec axles are designed specifically for the SOHC D-Series engines found in Civic's. These little SOHC's can be built to provide a good swift kick with the blip of the throttle.
As an example to the integrity of these axles, we have a customer who has a pair of these in his 95 Civic SOHC EX coupe and the motor is equipped with a 120 shot of nitrous. His axles handle the abuse with ease.
Note: We suggest using the D.spec axle whenever high hp/tq, turbo or nitrous will be used. If you plan to use that type of power on the OE+ spec axle, you assume all liability.
