iL4 Performance 4 Bar MAP sensors use state of the art bipolar op amp circuitry with thin film resistor networks built into each micro chip. Pressure changes are calculated on a true linear 0-5 volt scale via a specially designed silicon pressure sensor that also compensates for temperature changes. The unique ability to compensate for temperature changes allows the iL4 Performance 4 Bar MAP sensor to remain a minimum of 99% accurate from 32 degrees F to 180 degrees F through out its range of scale. With the true linear pressure vs. voltage scale there is never a need to re-tune at different altitudes as with other sensors. The iL4 Performance 4 bar MAP sensor can precisely calculate boost pressure from 1-43+ psi while still allowing smooth stock OEM drivability at any boost level.
The iL4 Performance 4 Bar MAP sensors are put through a full function evaluation test prior to final Q.C and inspection. The test consists of a pressure test, vaccumn test and scaling test. All sensors come with a new o-ring. A high-quality adhesive made to withstand over 200psi is used, so you won't ever have an issue due to a leak in the casing. To effectively run any 4 bar MAP sensor, you will need an engine management software to rescale the sensor. A stock MAP sensor is 1.7 bar over 5 volts, whereas our MAP sensor is 4 bar over 5 volts. The map will be extremely off without proper scaling, therefore recalibration of the MAP sensor is mandatory. Once scaled properly, this sensor will work fine on NA or forced induction applications.
