After a lot of research and testing of different HID lighting kits, we've decided to choose JD Lighting as our choice of HID lighting kits. As you know, Inline Four has never sold or offered any HID kits. So, for the greater half of 2008 and most of 2009, we've tested about 20 different kits. Many of them were of the eBay variety and you can probably guess how those turned out. All HID kits currently in the market are manufactured in China. It 's no secret, however, strict quality control standards are what distinguishes a superior HID kit like JD Lighting. JD Lighting HID kits are manufactured under strict ISO9001 specification and are also European TUV approved. The ballasts included with the JD Lighting kits have approx. 280 electrical components that make up the inner workings of the ballast. A typical eBay or low quality HID kit has approx. 180-200 electrical components. That is why the inferior ballasts usually go out within 6-9 months of use. JD Lighting offers brightness levels from 3,000K(kelvins) to 30,000k. However, based on our testing, Inline Four is going to suggest to use the 5,000K or 6,000K, if you are after the brightest illumination. The higher the kelvin rating, the lower the brightness level (lumens) and produces more of a bluish hue. A factory Honda S2000 OEM HID system runs at 4,300k. After testing, we've concluded that 5,000K (3,200 lumens) is the most efficient output of lumens and performs the best. Note:Pink and Purple hues are also available. They are off the scale and do not really have a kelvin rating that is specified on any rating or chart. These kits are extremely easy to install and are plug-and-play. All ballasts and bulbs are water proof and tested before shipping, so there are no D.O.A. (Dead On Arrival). All kits include: 2 HID ballasts, 2 HID bulbs, all necessary wiring harnesses and accessories, mounting hardware and installation guide. The following size bulbs are of a special variety and will cost a little more: H4H, D4R, D4S, D1R, and D1S.
