The OEM inner and outer tie rods are a weak point in the MacPherson style suspension in todays late model Hondas and Acuras. One very popular model is the 02-06 RSX. Whenever you lower the car the tie rods become angled at a less than desireable position, which puts strain on the inner and outer tie rods (tie rod assembly). Over the course of time, sometimes a short time, either the outer or inner tie rod will go bad. When this occurs, it is best to replace the entire assembly on both ends. Symptoms of worn tie rods are excessive play in the steering wheel, a clunking nose when turning full steer from left to right and sometimes a shudder while turning, just to name a few. The most common seems to be the clunking feel/noise when turning.
Sold in a pair of tie rod assemblies (left and right inner/outer).
