OEM Honda crankshaft thrust washers are commonly overlooked when building an engine. Many times the old thrust washers may still look good, but it is cheap insurance to have them replaced. Thrust washers play an important role in the bottom-end. The thrust washer is inserted in place to prevent the cranshaft from "walking" or moving laterally. Once you replace the thrust washers, you can then check for crankshaft "end play".
