OEM Honda Injector Resistor Box

The OEM Honda injector resistor box comes equipped on all 88-91 Civic/CRX's and 92-96 Preludes. Why you ask? Because back then, Honda used a "Peak and Hold" style injector, which is a high-resistance injector and requires a "driver" (the injector resistor box). The driver hits the injector with more force, hence high-resistance, which allows the injector to open and close at a faster rate. Sounds like a cool thing huh? Well it is, but Honda switched everything to low resistance or "saturated" injectors after 91 during the introduction of OBD1. They kept the Prelude at peak and hold until 97, when they finally switched that vehicle over to saturated. I believe they kept the Prelude from 92-96 at Peak and Hold, due to a few variables. Possibly having to do with the OBD1 programming, larger injector size, 2 liter plus size motors and specific fuel requirements and ecu mapping.

So why are you selling this to me, my CRX or Prelude runs fine? We offer this resistor box, because if you are forced induction that runs off of saturated injectors and are at the point where you need 1000cc injectors, so you can achieve 600+ hp on your street demon, im sorry to say that they will not idle. The saturated injector doesn't open and close fast enough to be able to give you a streetable idle. Now if this was a race car, then hey, 2000rpm is no biggie.

Now my childhood pals at RC Engineering got a hold of a certain "brand" of 1000cc saturated injectors that claim they will idle and be streetable etc. Well, upon flow testing this "brand" at RC, these babies only flowed at around 850-880cc's. So, not quite the 1000cc's you paid for.

Now, to make a long story short, this box is easy to wire up, only 4 wires. You can now run peak and hold injectors on your saturated equipped vehicle. Keep in mind, you will have to either have an ECU that supports the resistor box or an aftermarket fuel management like Hondata, AEM, Motec, etc. And if you are at the point of needing 1000cc's, then "stock ecu" is not in your vocabulary. On a side note, if your OEM resistor box fried or went out on you, we have them as replacements as well.
